What follows...
...are eight watercolor paintings I made almost a decade ago. They were part of my project I graduated with from The High School of Arts. The task was to create a set of illustrations for a storybook, as well as designing the cover and all the additional page elements like vignettes, borders and stuff. Although the main source of my inspiration was the great Italian illustrator Tony Wolf, I tried to find my own style by using the splendid possibilities of the watercolor technique.
As for the book, I dare to say that this is one of the greatest stories ever written. But what makes it really extraordinary are the author's original illustrations that complement the content with genuine sincerity. I love this book the way it is and even though I had a great time creating these images I never planned to publish them. Because "the essential things in life are seen not with the eyes, but with the heart..."

Watermark
See? A big one! And it's not even transparent...
OMG, I have to put these final touches on my short film as quickly as possible... Otherwise, who knows what will be the next thing I post here...

Shadows Of The Past
I did these like 5 years ago. I was working on a story of mine and drawing some of the characters involved helped me better develop their personalities. Unfortunately, the thing turned into a very complex and hard-for-me-to-draw story. So I put the treatment back on my shelf along with this huge folder of concept art and character designs, waiting for the days when I'll be able to clone myself (multiple times) and draw it the way I intended it.
And for the record - 'Shadows Of The Past' is not my project's actual worktitle.

Coming (Back) Soon
Hi everyone! I just wanted to drop a line about my recent lack of updates. The truth is my short film entered its final phase of post-production and I have hard times putting all the things together. Some scenes need to be re-edited, others require additional effects work so the animation blends into the live-action background. Not to mention the awkward frame processing that really drives me crazy... but anyway.
Thanks for visiting my blog! I'll be back soon with a helluva lot of new goodies to post. Hopefully.

Need For Speed
Just a quickie I did while I was taking a break from my daily work.
And to make it clear - this is not Monica Bellucci in 6th grade...

Bedtime Story
I know I stand in line
Until you think you have the time
To spend an evening with me
And if we go someplace to dance
I know that there's a chance
You won't be leaving with me
Then afterwards we drop
Into a quiet little place
And have a drink or two
And then I go and spoil it all
By saying something stupid
Like "I love you".
I can see it in your eyes
You still despise the same old lines
You heard the night before
And though it's just a line to you
For me it's true and
Never seemed so right before.
I practice every day
To find some clever lines to say
To make the meaning come through
But then I think I'll wait
Until the evening gets late
And I'm alone with you
The time is right
Your perfume fills my head
The stars get red and
Oh the night's so blue
And then I go and spoil it all
By saying something stupid
Like "I love you".
Until you think you have the time
To spend an evening with me
And if we go someplace to dance
I know that there's a chance
You won't be leaving with me

Night at the Museum
A picture of me and some guy I met while visiting Madame Tussaud's of London. We had a small but exceptionally rich in content talk, partly because he didn't say a word, partly because I was in a hurry to join the next tour of the Planetarium...

Back to the Super
To set up the stage for the live-action sequences of my short animation that I already presented in the three previous posts, I had to provide a considerable amount of drawn pages. Each page had to feature a different type of superhero concept with the parody being the unifying element in all of them.
Eventually, I ended up with a helluva lot of characters. Some of them will be able to make their way to the screen and obtain their 15 ... seconds of fame. But others, lots of others won't be that lucky. Here's why I decided to clean up and color a couple of my favorite sketches and put them in the spotlight through Blogger. I hope you like 'em...
