...are eight watercolor paintings I made almost a decade ago. They were part of my project I graduated with from The High School of Arts. The task was to create a set of illustrations for a storybook, as well as designing the cover and all the additional page elements like vignettes, borders and stuff. Although the main source of my inspiration was the great Italian illustrator Tony Wolf, I tried to find my own style by using the splendid possibilities of the watercolor technique.
As for the book, I dare to say that this is one of the greatest stories ever written. But what makes it really extraordinary are the author's original illustrations that complement the content with genuine sincerity. I love this book the way it is and even though I had a great time creating these images I never planned to publish them. Because "the essential things in life are seen not with the eyes, but with the heart..."
